ALKO, Sumatra

This exceptional coffee is produced by ALKO, a farmer-owned cooperative who work in the Kerinchi of Sumatra, Indonesia. They seek to use the land sustainably whilst improving farming practices.

The coffee is grown at an altitude of 1300-1650 metres above sea level in volcanic soil. Once harvested, it is peeled and left to ferment for up to 30 days without washing, and then dried for 15-20 days before the beans are dry-hulled and sorted. This creates the sweetness that is characteristic of the honey process.

Rich, fruity acidity is balanced with notes of dark chocolate. A perfect choice for your filter coffee and black espresso.
